TTC buses serve Pearson, while UP Express connects the airport with stations across Toronto. The two services give you different ways to start the journey: TTC routes travel by road, and UP Express runs between the airport and its rail stations.

TTC buses

The TTC’s route 900 Airport Express runs between Pearson and Kipling Station on Line 2. At the airport, it serves Terminal 1 at Ground Level and Terminal 3 at Arrivals Level. The approximate one-way trip takes 20–25 minutes.

Other TTC routes include the 52A Lawrence West, which serves the airport, and overnight options: the 300A Bloor-Danforth, 334A Eglinton and 352 Lawrence West. The 952 Lawrence West is an express route for weekday peak periods.

Their journey times vary: the 52A takes approximately 75 minutes during peak periods and 50 minutes off-peak; the overnight routes take about 60 minutes, except the 334A, which takes about 75 minutes. The 952 takes approximately 75 minutes during peak periods.

TTC fares apply to airport-bound TTC service at both terminals, and one fare is required. Mississauga Transit fares are not accepted at the airport stops.

UP Express

UP Express connects Pearson Airport with Union, Bloor, Mount Dennis and Weston stations. The trip between Pearson and Union takes approximately 28 minutes, and trains run every 15 minutes. To plan a complete transit journey, check the onward connection from the station that suits your arrival.

Where do taxis and rideshares pick up at Pearson?

Where do taxis and rideshares pick up at Pearson?

Pearson offers licensed airport taxis and limousines at the terminal curbs on the Arrivals Level, and rideshare services include Uber, Lyft and Hopp. Check your app for the assigned rideshare pickup area, since the instructions vary by terminal and provider.

At Terminal 1, Lyft and Hopp pickups are in Zone 3, while Uber pickups use Zones 4 and 5. At Terminal 3, pickup areas vary by service and zone. Uber Black and Lyft Lux pickups use Door A at either terminal.

Licensed taxis and limousines can be identified by a GTAA number plate on the bumper and a decal on the window. These services use flat rates to Toronto destinations, do not apply surge pricing and accept major credit cards. Airport limousines cost approximately 10% more than taxis.

Arriving passengers do not need to pre-book a taxi or limo. If you have arranged a pickup in advance, the designated location is Door A at either terminal. Pearson says the services offer guaranteed rates regardless of traffic or weather, including taxes.

Additional charges may apply for four or more checked bags and/or an oversize item, or for five or more passengers; each additional charge is $15 and is applied at most once per trip after the driver informs passengers before departure.

Passengers travelling with mobility aids cannot be refused, hindered or charged extra fees beyond standard vehicle tariffs to transport their equipment. If an aid does not fold or collapse, check directly with a pre-arranged provider about whether it can be accommodated.

What should you consider when driving to North York?

Confirm the driving route with your navigation provider and check with the hotel about parking before setting off.

If you’re picking up a rental car or arranging a ride, follow airport directions for your chosen service and terminal. For a taxi or limousine, use the licensed Arrivals Level curb rather than accepting a ride from an unmarked vehicle.

How should you choose a route for your arrival time?

How should you choose a route for your arrival time?

Choose your airport transfer by matching the service’s operating pattern to your arrival and the onward connection you need. TTC has daytime, peak-period and overnight routes, while UP Express runs between Pearson and its Toronto stations every 15 minutes.

For a late-night arrival, check the relevant overnight TTC route and its operating pattern before relying on it. If you prefer to travel directly, compare a taxi, limousine or rideshare pickup; for a train journey, confirm how you’ll continue from the station.

Check the official site before you go: consult the TTC and Pearson Airport for current service hours, routes and pickup instructions.
